Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit have charged a suspect in connection with a homicide investigation in the City of Richmond Hill.
On Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 8:25 a.m., police responded to a check-welfare call at a residence in the area of Gracedale Drive and Shaftsbury Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they located 60-year-old Xiaomei WANG deceased inside the home.
Following a search, police located and arrested the suspect later that day, in the City of Toronto.

- Henry AI, 23, of Richmond Hill
Charge:
Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.
The investigation is ongoing. The Homicide Unit is seeking assistance with obtaining any video surveillance footage available in the area of Gracedale Drive, near Shaftsbury Avenue, in Richmond Hill, between September 20, 2024, at 5 p.m. and September 21, 2024, at 9 a.m.
