FIREARM SEIZED AFTER BAIL COMPLIANCE ARREST

Investigators with the York Regional Police High Risk Offender Unit (HROU) have seized a firearm and charged a man after a bail compliance investigation in the City of Vaughan.

In July 2024 the suspect was granted bail for multiple charges including failing to comply with his previous bail. He was also subject to a lifetime firearms prohibition order. In response, members of the HROU initiated a bail compliance investigation and on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at approximately 1 p.m., investigators arrested the suspect in the area of Highway 7 and Ansley Grove Road for multiple counts of failing to comply with a release order. The suspect was in possession of a loaded firearm with an extended magazine.

Charged:

  • Gaddiel LEDINEK, 29, of the City of Toronto

Charges:

  • Fail to Comply with Release Order x10
  • Unauthored Possession of a Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device x2
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Breach of Prohibition Order x2
