WITNESSES SOUGHT FOLLOWING FATAL MOTORCYCLE COLLISION IN GEORGINA

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses after a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in the Town of Georgina.

On Sunday, July 21, 2024, at approximately 2 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) in the intersection of Country Mile Lane and McCowan Road.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 34-year-old man from Georgina, was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The driver of the SUV remained on scene and did not sustain any injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision, to please come forward.
