Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are appealing for additional witnesses after a driver was charged for Dangerous Operation while in a City of Markham school zone.
On Thursday, September 5, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a Crime Prevention officer was conducting Operation ABC (Always Be Careful) back-to-school enforcement in the area of Russell Jarvis and Rouge Bank Drives. The suspect was observed by the officer driving in a dangerous manner, committing numerous traffic offences and driving on the sidewalk.
Additional units were called to the area and the suspect was taken into custody.
Charged: - Jonathan TRAPP, 30, of Markham

The investigation is ongoing.
Investigators are appealing for additional witnesses to come forward who observed the driving behaviour. Officers would also like to speak with anyone who may have video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area at the time of the incident.
