Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are appealing for witnesses and seeking suspects following a home invasion in the City of Markham.
On Thursday, September 5, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., police were called to a residence in the area of The Bridle Walk and Castlemore Avenue for a home invasion. The victim called police after three suspects forced their way into the home, armed with a hammer, while demanding their vehicle keys. A fourth suspect, believed to be the driver, remained in the suspect vehicle.
Security video shows the suspects driving past the house several times before the incident occurred.
The suspects obtained keys to the victim’s vehicle, a white 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS sport utility vehicle, with Ontario licence plate DDPW030. Two of the suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle while the remaining two suspects fled in the suspect vehicle, described as a dark, four-door sedan.
There were four adults and two children in the home at the time of the incident. There were no injuries.

Investigators believe this is a targeted incident and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Officers would like to speak with anyone who may have video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area at the time of the incident.
