TWO SUSPECTS CHARGED AFTER RICHMOND HILL ARMED HOME INVASION

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have charged two suspects after a home invasion in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Thursday, September 12, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., police responded to a residence in the area of Rothbury Road and Gamble Road for the reports of a home invasion. Three suspects entered the residence by smashing the rear glass door and confronted the victims with firearms. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s Lamborghini. There were no injuries.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., investigators located the stolen Lamborghini parked with a suspect vehicle, a white Range Rover, in the area of Grover Hill Avenue and Frank Endean Road. The vehicles were contained and two suspects were taken into custody after attempting to flee. Police are searching for at least one additional suspect.

It was learned that the suspect Range Rover had been stolen in a carjacking in Toronto on September 10, 2024.  

The outstanding suspect is described as male, approximately 20 years old, 5’8”, wearing a black balaclava, black-hooded sweater, grey athletic pants with black stripes down the legs and black shoes.

Investigators are releasing a photo of the adult suspect, as they believe these suspects are responsible for additional offences. Additional photos, including the suspect vehicle, have been attached. A video of the suspects can be seen here: https://youtu.be/L7pwSjn2W9w

  • Dilraj BAL, 19, City of Woodstock

Charges:

  • Robbery Using Restricted or Prohibited Firearm
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 x2
  • 16-year-old male, City of Brampton

BAL was on a probation order at the time of his arrest and the young offender is currently on bail for previous robbery charges.

The investigation is ongoing. Investigators would like to speak to anyone with video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area at the time of the incident.
