MAN CHARGED FOR COMMERCIAL BREAK AND ENTER SERIES

Investigators of the York Regional Police #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) and #2 District CIB have charged a man in connection with a series of commercial break and enters across York Region.

On November 12, 2024, York Regional Police received multiple reports of commercial break and enters which occurred during the early morning hours in the Town of Newmarket and the Town of Aurora.

Responding officers identified the same suspect responsible for each of the incidents.

Investigators had been attempting to locate the suspect in relation to a series of commercial break and enters over the last several months. The suspect had been identified but fled from police in dangerous manner on October 8, 2024. On November 12, investigators were able to locate the suspect and place him under arrest.

The suspect has been charged for commercial break and enters as far back as June 3, 2024.

Charged:

  • Jonathan ALLAN, 44, of the Town of Newmarket

Charges:

  • Break and Enter Commit x25
  • Disguise with Intent x25
  • Possession of Beak-in Instruments x25
  • Breach of Probation
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Flight from Police
  • Obstruct Police
  • Use Plate Unauthorized

At the time of his arrest ALLAN was on probation.
