Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are appealing for witnesses following a carjacking in the City of Markham.
On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at approximately 7:10 p.m., police responded to a carjacking in the area of Kirkham Drive and Karachi Drive. A male suspect on a bicycle rode into the side of the victim’s Cadillac Escalade. When the victim got out to check on the male, a dark sedan pulled up behind the Escalade. Two suspects exited the sedan, threatened the victim with a firearm and stole her vehicle.
All three suspects fled the scene together. The victim was not injured.
The victim’s vehicle is described as a black 2024 Cadillac Escalade with Ontario licence plate DCFT 014.
The suspect on the bicycle was described as male, Black, approximately 20 years of age. There were no descriptions available for the two remaining suspects. The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-coloured sedan.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Officers would also like to speak with anyone who may have video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area at the time of the incident.
