A York Regional Police Officer is facing additional charges as a result of an investigation by the York Regional Police Professional Standards Bureau.
On January 15, 2025, Constable Guangnan (Garry) SUN was arrested and charged with:
- Unauthorized Use of Computer x23
- Breach of Trust by Public Officer x2
- Obstructing Justice
Following his arrest, Constable SUN was released from custody on an Undertaking with conditions. Since then, he was found to have contravened the conditions of his release.
On March 5, 2025, Constable Guangnan (Garry) SUN was arrested and charged with:
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking x2
A bail hearing took place at the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on March 5, 2025 and Constable SUN was released from custody with additional conditions.
