CHILD SUFFERS LIFE-ALTERING INJURIES IN VAUGHAN COLLISION

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses after a collision in the City of Vaughan left a child with life-altering injuries.

On Saturday, April 19, 2025, at approximately 2 p.m., police responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision in the area of Cold Creek Road and Kirby Road. A child in one of the vehicles suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to a trauma centre. The child remains in stable condition with life-altering injuries.

Both vehicles remained on scene. One adult suffered minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are looking to speak with a driver who they believe may have witnessed the collision. They were driving a red sport utility vehicle, believed to be a Land Rover Discovery sport model. The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on Kirby Road from Cold Creek Road.

Photos of the vehicle are being released by investigators and police are seeking public assistance in identifying the vehicle.
