MULTIPLE VEHICLES DESTROYED IN MARKHAM ARSON

Posted on Thursday March 06, 2025

Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking at least three suspects and appealing for witnesses following an arson at a vehicle storage lot in the City of Markham.

On Sunday, March 3, 2025, shortly before 12 p.m., police attended an outdoor vehicle storage lot in the area of Heritage Road and McCowan Road for a report of a fire. On arrival, officers learned that a fire occurred at approximately 3 a.m. and extinguished on its own.

Thirteen vehicles in the lot were heavily damaged as a result. There were no injuries.

Video surveillance shows a dark, four-door sedan arrive with two occupants, wearing dark clothing, exiting the vehicle. What appears to be an accelerant is poured on numerous vehicles and ignited. The suspects re-enter the vehicle, driven by a third suspect, and flee.
