York Regional Police has seized a loaded gun, a quantity of drugs and laid multiple charges following a sobriety check in the City of Markham.
On Thursday, November 28, 2024, at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers were conducting Festive Season R.I.D.E enforcement in the area of Kennedy Road and Highway 407. A vehicle was stopped with one male occupant and cannabis was observed readily available to the driver. As a result, a search was conducted and a firearm was found in the vehicle. Officers further located a quantity of pills believed to be a controlled substance and several bags that contained a substance believed to Cocaine.
