SUSPECTS SOUGHT FOLLOWING FAILED CARJACKING ATTEMPT IN RICHMOND HILL

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking as many as three suspects following a failed carjacking attempt in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Thursday, February 13, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., police attended a commercial plaza in the area of West Beaver Creek Road and Leslie Street for a report of a carjacking attempt. On scene, officers learned that a black pick-up truck stopped behind the victim’s vehicle while they were seated inside.

Two male suspects, armed with at least one firearm, exited and approached the driver side window in an attempt to steal the victim’s vehicle. A third suspect, believed to be the driver, remained in the pick-up truck.

The victim was able to flee from the scene and was not injured.

The suspects are described as males, wearing dark clothing with reflective trim and face coverings. The suspect vehicle is described as a black pick-up truck with a crew cab.
