Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a serious three-vehicle collision in the City of Vaughan.
On Monday, November 18, 2024, at approximately 11:10 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a collision in the area of Dufferin Street and Rutherford Road. Officers located a three-vehicle collision, including a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on its roof. Through investigation it was learned that the suspect’s sedan had struck the SUV from behind, causing the SUV to roll and to strike a third vehicle.
The 60-year-old male driver of the SUV was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the sedan was arrested for dangerous and impaired related driving offences.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision, to please come forward.
