VIDEO - CHARGES LAID IN VAUGHAN CELL PHONE STORE ROBBERY

Posted on Thursday April 17, 2025

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have charged an adult male and two male youths with numerous offences following a cell phone store robbery in the City of Vaughan.

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, at approximately 8:52 p.m., three suspects, armed with at least one firearm, entered a cell phone store within a shopping mall in the area of Jane Street and Rutherford Road.

The suspects demanded to be taken to the safe and assaulted a store security guard in the process. The security guard sustained minor injuries.

The suspects were unsuccessful in obtaining any items and fled in a black sedan, driven by a fourth suspect.

On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, investigators located the black sedan, which was later determined to be stolen, and observed the vehicle as it traveled to a cell phone store in the City of Guelph. The investigators believed the three suspects within the vehicle attended the cell phone store for the purpose of committing an armed robbery.

As a result, they were arrested and found to be wearing masks, gloves and in possession of knives, hammers and bags.
