Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a City of Markham man with Voyeurism and believe there may be additional victims.
On August 21, 2024, a youth victim was in a unisex changeroom at Milliken Mills Community Centre in Markham when they saw a cell phone pointed in their direction and believed they were being recorded. The victim believes the suspect was standing on a bench inside a nearby stall.
The victim immediately reported the incident and the suspect fled. The victim was not injured.
After a lengthy investigation, the suspect was identified and a search warrant was executed on January 3, 2025, at a residence in Markham. As a result, 31-year-old Qinxing SHI was charged.
Investigators are now releasing an image of the accused, as investigators believe there may be more victims. The accused is also believed to have visited the Aaniin Community Centre between January and August 2024.
Anyone who believes they may be a victim is encouraged to speak to police.
