Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal motor vehicle collision in the City of Markham.
On June 17, 2024, at approximately 1:40 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a box truck and two sedans in the area of Don Mills Road and Simonston Boulevard. Through investigation it was learned that the truck was traveling southbound when it crossed the center lane into oncoming traffic, striking two vehicles.
The 33-year-old female driver of a sedan suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced on scene.
The driver of the second sedan was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the box truck was arrested and was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision, to please come forward.
