Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking six suspects following a commercial robbery in the City of Markham.
On Monday, December 23, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., police responded to a robbery at a financial institution in the area of Markham Road and Highglen Avenue. Six suspects brandishing firearms entered and ordered patrons onto the ground. Both the financial institution and the customers inside were robbed.
One employee was assaulted during the incident and was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The suspects fled in a dark sport utility vehicle with a quantity of cash and cellphones.
Suspect #1: Male, Black, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black mask and grey shoes.
Suspect #2: Male, Black, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black mask, black hat, white socks, blue gloves and dirty white shoes.
Suspect #3: Male, Black, thin build, wearing a black balaclava, grey Nike hooded sweatshirt with matching track pants, blue gloves, black-and-white shoes and carrying a brown and black backpack.
Suspect #4: Male, brown skin, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black mask, red-and-black gloves, black shoes, carrying a blue-and-white bag and brandishing a firearm.
Suspect #5: Male, Black, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black Nike pants, black mask, white gloves, black shoes, carrying a Jansport backpack and brandishing a firearm.
Suspect #6: Male, Black, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, white mask, one yellow and one blue glove, black shoes and brandishing a firearm.
The investigation is ongoing.
