Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigations Unit are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the City of Markham
On Thursday, January 30, 2024, at 5:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Kennedy Road and Denison Street. The vehicle, a black Honda Civic, was travelling northbound on Kennedy Road and the pedestrian was crossing from west to east when the collision occurred.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to a trauma centre, where they remain in a life-threatening condition.
The driver remained on scene and no charges have yet been laid.
The investigation is ongoing.
Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at the time of the collision, to please come forward.
