BRAMPTON MAN CHARGED FOR VIOLENT SEXUAL ASSAULTS OF A YOUTH

Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a Brampton man after an investigation into violent sexual assaults committed against a youth in the City of Vaughan.

On Friday October 25, 2024, police learned that the victim had been sexually assaulted by the suspect in June and July of 2024. The victim met the suspect through a social media platform and corresponded for approximately a year before arranging to meet in person. On their first meeting, the suspect prevented the victim from leaving his residence before violently sexually assaulting them. On a subsequent meeting the suspect both physically and sexually assaulted the victim.

Despite the victim’s attempts to cut off contact with the suspect, he criminally harassed them by sending videos of their mother walking outside of their home.

York Regional Police is releasing an image of the suspect as investigators believe there are additional victims and are encouraging them to come forward. The suspect is a rapper and may be better known by his stage name of “SG VERSACCE”.

·         Shevon MCBEAN, 25, of the City of Brampton

Charges:

·         Sexual Assault Cause Bodily Harm x4

·         Sexual Interference x2

·         Forcible Confinement

·         Assault

·         Criminal Harassment – Watching or Besetting

 A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police encourages victims to report incidents of sexual assault, including historical offences. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
