VIDEO - SUSPECTS SOUGHT FOLLOWING CINEMA ARSON IN RICHMOND HILL

Posted on Tuesday November 05, 2024

Investigators with the York Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking two suspects and appealing for any witnesses following an arson in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Sunday, November 3, 2024, at approximately 11:10 p.m., police attended a cinema in the area of East Beaver Creek and Highway 7 for reports of a fire in the main lobby. The sprinkler system was activated and extinguished the fire. There were occupants in a second-floor theatre, however, there were no injuries.

Security video shows a grey sport utility vehicle (SUV), with Ontario licence plate DCKP 812, park in front of the cinema entrance. Two suspects walk through the main entrance, throw an object on to the ground and then throw what appear to be Molotov cocktails at it, causing a fire to ignite. The suspects flee in the grey SUV.

The suspect vehicle is registered as a grey Acura RDX and was reported stolen out of Toronto on October 28, 2024.
