CARJACKING INVESTIGATION IN MARKHAM

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are appealing for witnesses following a carjacking in the City of Markham.

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, at approximately 9:45 p.m., police responded to a carjacking in a plaza parking lot, in the area of Highway 7 East and Rodick Road. The victim was walking to their vehicle when they were assaulted by a suspect who fled in the victim’s grey 2022 Mercedes AMD GT sedan.

The suspect is still outstanding and described as male, skinny, wearing all black clothing.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Officers would also like to speak with anyone who may have video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area at the time of the incident.
