A pock-faced white man with short blonde hairOctober 28, 2004

Members of the Special Victims Unit - Sexual Assault Cold Case Section are still looking for a suspect nearly two decades after a 27-year-old woman was assaulted while walking her dog in Richmond Hill.

The victim was travelling along Harding Boulevard into Harding Park before 9 p.m. on October 28 when she was approached by a man in a dark, puffy jacket and dark jeans. The man, then in his 20s with short blonde hair and a thin build, asked the woman for a cigarette lighter, before blitz attacking her as she crossed a bridge in the park.

The victim was dragged to the ground and punched in the face by the man, before he sexually assaulted her. It was only when a bystander approached, having heard her scream for help, that the man fled on foot. Police arrived moments later and surrounded the area, but the suspect was never found.

In the days that followed, police issued two composite sketches depicting the suspect and canvassed the area exhaustively, but have yet to identify the man.
